    I'm working with a company to make brass replacement gears for the power door lock actuators/latch.
    The gears are plastic and prone to failure. The replacement gears should be under $75 per door. Thats better then $250+ to replace the door latch assembly. The interest needs to be high enough to justify a production run of them. Please vote if it's something that interests you.

    approximately when do the stock ones often fail?

    i lock my truck both with the switch inside and turning the key outside to lock/unlock both doors at once

    When I had my 1st gen (2001) my drivers side power lock quit around 175k and in late 2015.

    it must be a function of use and not necessarily time elapsed

    but i am sure the plastic parts get more prone to damage under use in extreme cold conditions
