First cold spell, means a big pot of chili

 

Was 28 or so last night here! Yuck! I hate being cold!!

23 last night actually and 25 tonight...

 

Yea same here...

Just found out that there where 3 more deaths this week in my trade. For a total of 31 this year. That is 1 every 9 days On average. think about that for a second... a DEATH at work every 9 days... that doesnt include serious injuries...

Yet people will drive by and say stupid shit about the number of people who they think are just standing around. When in reality they are doing the most important task in the world... looking out for the man in the air seeing what he doesnt so he can go home safe to his family.

There is such a shortage of qualified workers who can work hot primary ,and the desire to be a "lineman" has young kids rushing and saying they can do it, before they truly can, that the companies will put them in the position. It is this inexperienced that is killing young men, and forever changing the lives of others and ther families.

I kept the finger, I cut off of a pair of rubber gloves, that I had gotten a hole in from being careless while driving a staple. A hole that if I had been working in a hot primary.zone may have resulted.in MY death.... I keep this on my desk at home where I see it every day. As a reminder...

Fixing to leave work machine down 3 days , chasing phantoms in phoenix can bus system , etc etc start all over again tomorrow .Our damn IT department has so many firewalls and passcodes you can't get on internet to get into system to trouble shoot.Flew in an authorized Siemens software tech and he can't even get in Holy shit it's a Nightmare . Getting grayer buy the minute.
