    Thanks for this tip! Yall think it would be possible to remove/ reinstall this CV seal (part 90304-A0001) without completely removing the axle from the truck? Like without pulling the axle from the diff? I assume it would take a little finesse but it seems possible. I'm gonna replace these seals this weekend

    How do I remove the oil seal and dust seal? I have the spindles off but not the axle, do I need a press?

    If it's not rusted together just a screwdriver will be fine. Just wedge it between the dif housing and the inner CV joint and pry. Seal can be removed in a similar manner with a screwdriver if you don't intend on reusing it.

    Did you ever find a good solution to pull that inner dust seal from the back side of the Spindle? My standard size oil puller seems to small - short to work well....

    For anyone reading this in the future, just take the wheel bearing assembly out and knock it out from that side.

    When you're torqueing the axle nut down to the 173ft or whatever, wouldn't that seat the axle into the dust seal? Mine went in without having to hammer or press the seal into the hub. The axle seems like it sits in fine. I just stuck the seal in, made sure it was at least seated as much as I can press it in, stuck the axle in, hub, torqued the axle nut down.

    Reviving the thread here - does anyone have the updated part numbers for both seals? My google-fu tells me I need (x1) 4344204010 & (x1) 90304A0001 for each wheel bearing assembly. Is this correct?

    Also, I'm installing an entire wheel bearing assembly from @05Taco4x4 - I want to confirm I will not need to remove the CV axle to replace the inner seal. From what I've seen it looks like I will need to remove the spindle to replace the seal on the backside.

    Remove the two bottom bolts on the spindle and it will pivot on top, allowing you to swing it off the CV to swap the seal

    Why when I took my axle out of spindle and I looked at the back of axle seal there was little bit of grease is it needed if I replace both inner seals on passanger and driver side

    When you replaced the seal on the back of spindle did you put any grease on or in it. At all.i just replaced mine took back apart and had seen that my brand new seal is torn rubber shavings all around please help

    Did you put any grease at all on anything or in around new seal. At all cuse I replaced mine and had to take back apart only drove down rd and back and my seal the rubber was torn so I don't know what I did wrong but I got new ones to try this again.. but the rubber on my cv axle are still good no problem at all

    I am going through the process of removing both front end wheel hub assemblies.

    I am unsure if we are aloud to post links to videos however, if anyone else finds this thread and would like a walk through, this is the video I watched and learned.
    Very well spoken and the gentleman talks about each step in the process.

    My biggest concern now is trying to ensure I get the correct wheel seal.

    Great post. I just had my driver side done. i already had the CV axle and they charged me 100 to replace it. i do have a rebuild kit for the passenger side. i think i’ll wait till i need it. great post.

    Just remove the two bottom 19mm nuts to swing the spindle up and get the axle shaft out of they way, not need to remove the entire spindle. You maybe have to remove the sway bar link if it doesn’t give enough room at first.

    Easy job, just tap the inner spindle seal evenly with a block of wood until it seats.

    Can use the old seal to install the new cv shaft seal as well.
