This is the 2qt air fryer I picked up at Sam's Club for $30. It goes up to 400F and since I've only had in since yesterday I don't have enough information to convince you that you need one. I did make a small batch of fries in it and two batches of tater tots because I could. None of those things I added oil to and all were cooked on 400F with the fries going for 15 ( will up to 18 or 20 minutes to work on the color but they were totally crispy) and the tots went for 10 minutes each batch and were perfect!

Simply based on the fact that I can make tater tots in 10 minutes vs the time they take in the oven or on the grill... that alone is worth the $30 for me! Since it's only me, I didn't need a larger (read more expensive) one. I have plans to try bacon, chicken wings and even a hamburger and will report back on all those things.

I've spent more money on less satisfying things and while I don't expect this thing to replace all the gadgets in my kitchen, I do expect to give it a work out! HAHA

How about an air fryer hard "boiled" egg?

    Definitely needs a new name.

I have made "donuts" from pillsbury "sweet Hawaiian flaky biscuits, but any flaky biscuit will work. I use a shot glass to cut the hole in the middle. 400° and only a few minutes per side, yes you are best off flipping them.
Save the holes and fry them too. You have to cut the hole out or the inside will be gooey. Top with sugar or cinnamon or maple syrup. Pretty tasty treat

    BBQ Wings

    Temp: 380
Time: 24 min (turn over after 12)

I season the wings with a dry rub of 3 to 1 ratio of McCormick's Applewood rub (3) and Old Bay Seasoning (1). Preheat the air fryer, and then set it to 24 minutes at 380 degrees. After 12 minutes, I flip the wings then pop them back in until there's 5 minutes left. Take the wings out and brush on your BBQ sauce on top of the wings. I use Sweet Baby Ray's and mix in some of the dry rub that I made into the BBQ sauce. Throw them back in for 2 1/2 minutes, then take them out to flip and marinate the other side. Then finish up in the air fryer for another 2 1/2 minutes.

I found that marinating the wings in the last 5-7 minutes of cooking time allows the BBQ sauce to caramelize well without burning.

Are all baskets non stick material? Some reviews say the non stick coating is peeling. It's like the #1 complaint.

Mine isn't peeling and I have a cheap fryer, but I am sure it will peel soon enough. Every fryer I have seen has had a "non stick" basket, but I would definitely prefer stainless, maybe a ceramic coating would hold up too.

Well gonna have to follow this thread. I’ve had an air fryer for a couple years and really only use it for fries or chicken tenders and such so far.

Got to try the bacon in it soon.

I’ve had mine for a couple years and the non stick coating is not peeling yet. I don’t put mine in the dishwasher though. Usually just wipe it out with a towel.

I can see where they can have a place in the kitchen for cooking.
