What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Prepping for a bumper tomorrow. More pics to come tomorrow. Cant wait

 

New plugs, cleaned MAF and TB, new gear oil in rear diff, front diff and transfer case. Installed shocks and struts/springs from a 3rd gen TRD OR, makes the front end sit about perfect with the SOS Concepts front bumper on it.

 

Beautiful truck man, what brand is that front bumper?

 

Brute Force Fab. When the funds are available I'll be going through him for a high clearance rear and bed cage

And now it's time for an oil change, tire rotation, and driveline grease, hurray. installing this tomorrow! Then maybe @crashnburn80 's ultimate brake upgrade in the near future

 

I've got the oversized 338mm 4runner parts waiting for install. Just need all their companion parts to show up to get it done.

As @dpele posted, flexseal tape might be a good temporary solution. Ever thought about installing a ham radio or two way?

Got me me from one place to the next in a super early foot and half snow fall! Going through snow is almost effortless and it is why I love my taco.

 

New rear brakes. Old set was original as far as I know. I bought the truck at 50k and currently have 183k miles. Feels tight again. Main spring was a pain but everything went smooth and knocked it out in about 2 1/2 hours

 

Did the OME carrier bearing drop, fixed the take off shudder the 08 got after the lift. Also looks like we may take a trip to Raleigh to have an ECGS bushing installed next month. 30-40mph hum that goes away when 4hi is engaged. Guess that means the needle bearing isnt happy with the lift. Its not a vibration that can really be felt more of a humming noise so I dont think its as bad as others get, but still worth fixing.

Also slapped a for sale sign on the 92...

 

Just replaced the 3 idler pulleys, truck is now quiet again!

Gave mine a good pre-winter lovin. Oil and filter, greased the suspension, and driveshaft, new MT90 oil for the 5 speed trans and transfer case. Plus rotated the tires and gave the underside a good scrubbing. I beat on it and take care of it. 204k miles and counting. Maybe coolant drain and fill next weekend.

I do like how 1 gallon or 3.75 liters matches almost perfectly what I need to fill my trans and transfer case. Good thinkin toyota.

Simulated running trails with a Ford Ranger. The logs were a perfect training tool.

 

Added a Pelfreybilt bumper last week.
Last month I added 5100's with 885's on the front and a Wheelers AAL in the rear.
Month before I got my Toyo MT 255/85r16's.
Oh, had to add 1" Bora wheel spacers and remove my front sway bar.
So, yes, it's started, the endless modifications for off roading.
My shell comes later this month or next month, then rock sliders, …..

 

Cut the carpet for the camping platform and installed the LED camper lights made by @Cody23 but it was too cold to use the adhesive to attach the carpet this morning before we had to leave. Will attach the carpet and such, but we're on the way to break it in so we can check out Overland East!
The wife will be a much happier camper with the new setup...have an SUV tent on the way to give us some extra room for getting changed and all.
