Ok quick question, I am looking at the 2020 Tacoma, 4runner and Tundra.

Went to the local Toyota lot because I had to buy a new visor for my 2010 Taco.

The dealer that was working with me on the new 2020 models, saw my wife checking out a 2019 Platinum 4x4 sticker was 51k and some change.. He said hey if you want this one instead of the new 2020 I can get you 7k off right now.. I joked and said well once you get to 10k off I will consider it.. I continued to the parts section to get my Visor and when I came back he said.. 10k off and we got a deal...

Now the big question.. Is that a good deal.. I was waiting for the 2020 so I would get the keyless and such..

My mind says holy crap 10k off a brand new vehicle!! I don't need all that fluffy stuff..
but my heart says I do...
Plus this will be my LAST vehicle I buy new because I retire in 4 years..

Lets get some input on this.. Plus and Minus

    Thanks

Good price. Tundras are big, do you want a full size?

You are not asking the right question first.

First question: Are you in the market for a new vehicle or are you reacting with your emotions to a shiny penny on the ground?

If the answer is an emotional one then sit on it for 24 hours and ask yourself again if it makes sense to get a new vehicle. If you are in the market then dealerships rarely exist in a vacuum. If you are ready to buy then you can start exploring if what they are offering is the best deal or not. If one dealership will give you 10K off then another might give you more. Or, that dealership might give you more off. Always ask for their lowest price before you commit to buying at a particular price. My two cents, and ACV is less than that!

People are paying that for 2020 Tacoma TRDs so I would say it’s a decent deal. Tundra sales numbers are down and the new 2021 should be revealed soon. If you really want a current model tundra wait a few more months for that to happen and prices should drop even more.

I personally would pass. Once you’ve had the keyless entry and push button start you’ll never want to go back.

Platinum for 41k? Yeah thats a smoking deal. You wont get that level of plush in a Tacoma or a 4Runner. I would have taken that deal, of course I was in the market for a Tundra.

If they offered $10k off that easy, they would likely go lower. If you want it, wait for it. You already were offered $10k so see if they will go lower to make a deal, if they think you won’t do it anymore.
