2.4 Turbo, should see it debut in the 2021 IS350 (IS240?) next year. Hopefully we’ll get a pretty good idea of power numbers. It would be nice to see torque numbers above 300

2026 tacoma owners: OMG the new Turbo 4 cyl is terrible, bring back the tried and true 3.5L v6. I used to get sooo much better mpg and torque way down low, so much better for towing!!! What is toyota thinking, this will fail!!! :D:D:D

Honestly as my family grows i'm looking forward to a hybrid Tundra or even the twin turbo v6 tundra. Eventually i'll need to go up and i'd love either of those options. Those twin turbo V6 f150s get 20+ Mpgs and i'd kill for that on a full size Toyota

Seems like speculation, but the trend is towards turbo motors. If Toyota goes with a four cylinder turbo motor in the Tacoma in the near future, this forum will be livid!

Same. I shut it off after 20 seconds, realizing there was like a lot of minutes left.

I think a nice inline 6 motor would be nice to have in a tacoma. Less horsepower and more torque that is produced comfortably and not overloaded like in a TOO SMALL turbo engine.

Heard of lots of turbo motors pinging at low RPMs because the engines are being made TOO Small causing overloading of the low and midrange RPM ranges. Potentially hurting longevity.

Would have to have a longer hood to fit a straight 6 in but they do work well in trucks with the extra torque.

I can't imagine what my buddy Kevin would say if these things had longer hoods. He already makes fun of my truck for having a longer hood than bed

Wife had a Saab 9-3 and the turbo was awesome. I'd buy a 300 HP turbo Tacoma in a heartbeat. Probably get 25 mpg and run great.
