Thoughts on these tires?

I need to get a set of snow tires for my '15 and was thinking of getting them on a set of rims so I can just swap wheels out every winter. How do these look to y'all? Other thoughts? Perhaps I go the black steel rim route with some new tires?

    Thanks in advance!

Do you really need studs where you live?

@spitdog Good question. I live in Boulder, CO. 90% of the time, no. However, we are purchasing a cabin in the high country this fall and I hope I do need them more! Never really had an issue with the stock tires, but just want to be prepared. Maybe go with a stud-less snow?

If you lived in the mountains (like Breck or Frisco) full time, I would say buy them. Otherwise if you are majority of your time in Boulder and occasional trips up the hill, then stud-less snows are the way to go. Completely sufficient for the winters. The studs will whine incessantly on mostly dry roads, and seem to be overkill.

I've always been able to get where I wanted with good studless snows on my previous vehicle. I run all seasons on the Tacoma and just carry chains. Haven't needed to mount the chains on then pavement since buying them in 2013.

I run studded duratracs in the winter. Then again BC highways out side of the lower mainland are sheets of ice in the winter
