Cut 4'' from front mud flaps, Applied Fluid Film to frame for rust preventative,
Got a letter Sat. from Toyota 2011 to2017 Tacoma. For rust repair or replacement. Cold Climate States. I used Fluid Flume for 3 years after 9/16/14. I hope I wont have a rust issue.

Dealers love it - the "list price" for my frame replacement is was over $14K. I don't know what a "Flume Fluid" is, but I will bet the dealership is biased toward providing a brand new frame for your truck.

I had my 2009 Tacoma Access cab frame replaced last year. It was based on a rusted cross-member holding the transmission and causing drive line vibration.

Other then driving a **house of a truck** for free (Tundra quad-cab) for 4 months, it was a non-event for me. According to the mechanic who did the work, it is 3.5 days of labor. There was a "sea" of Tacoma's on an off-premise lot when I went to retrieve items from my truck. The dealership was willing to address some minor stuff that may or may-not have been part of their work (electrical connectors, rusty bolts, etc), post replacement.

2 cans of Fluid Film per vehicle every year. Stinks, but works.

Received same letter from Toyota concerning rust. Was told by Toyota hotline representative they'll be sending out another notice in 2-3 months to take your vehicle to a dealership for rust evaluation. Either they'll spray your frame or replace it at no cost. Must do within 2 years of this notice.

I'm extremely reluctant about getting that stuff sprayed on my undercarriage. Heard a ton of bad things about it. The kicker is that in order to get your frame replaced for free by Toyota down the road you must get Toyota to treat your undercarriage with that spray. :annoyed:
