Bucket (Seat) List ...The Butt Rests Here

K, so, I noticed that (especially with 1st Gen), first of all... SEATING...IS UNIQUELY PERSONAL!! It seems most folks are out to break up the bench, but there's many out there that want the bench BACK...

Secondly, there's a lot of discussions, but no permathread specifically addressing/for seating, so it seemed like a good idea to make one, especially since I have a question....

....IM broke...and short... (AF) and need to switch out the stock bench seat in my '99 Taco SC so I can reach the pedals w/o putting passengers IN MY GLOVEBOX!
So, naturally, I'd (reallyreally) like to find someone who's reasonably close, say,maybe within neighboring-state-range, who is currently waxing retro and wants to trade either buckets + flippy-center-console-seat OR a 60/40 bench straight across for my OEM bench seat, which is in really very good condition.....

This has been a headachy adventure thus far, BUT I KNOW it could happen!

Soooo...I'm making a poll to hopefully simplify this process and maybe help other people do the same? At least I THINK that's what I'm doing ..

 

Your best bet is to post this request on the 1st generation marketplace with a WTT bench seat for 60/40 bench seat or bucket seats with center console ad with pictures of your bench seat.

Another alternative is to go visit the junkyards that are local to you, find a wrecked 1st generation Tacoma with the 60/40 bench seats with gray seat cloth or bucket seats with gray seat cloth & gray center console with the mounting hardware. The used junkyard seats are affordable as long as the cloth fabric on the seats are in good shape.

Another idea, though more expensive is the Corbeau seats with their custom seat brackets that bolt right into the truck correctly with no modification. Good luck with your search.

 

I have buckets with a center console but they are starting to wear out. Not a lot of availability on 2002 4 runner seats for a good price. Only nice affordable ones I can find are the frs/brz seats for about $400 a set. Haven't seen it done in the first gens enough to take the leap.

Why did the OP make a poll for a possible bench seat to 60/40 bench seat or bucket seat/center console conversion?

 

I was going to say something like... I was told that very same thing, word for word... but I digress.
