What are some recommendations for polishing out pitting, particularly the windshield? Mine isn’t bad after three years, but thought maybe there’s something maintenance-wise to be done at this point.

Yeah, glass is a bitch even with the right tool and products the results can be nothing to underwhelming. Also with pitting you can end up with the polish/compound in the pitts with no way to remove and it dries in there. If you want to give it a try search for Carpro Ceriglass and their rayon pads. A rotary will be the best bet as a DA can tend to be under powered on glass. Ceriglass tends to dry quickly so the method is to keep wetting the compound as you work it, as the water thins it out, reapply. This will leave quite the mess so do this before washing vehicle as you'll need to after.

This will certainly clean years of wiper lines or other gunk that's been on there, but not sure if you have that on a vehicle of only a few years.

    Funny you mention this.
I went at my windshield a few days ago with my new G9, ceriglass and rayon pads....it did maybe a little more than a deep cleaning. I had high hopes but low expectations that it would remove some pitting and scratching. I may have removed some light swirls and made some pitting less noticeable. But glass is very hard and tough to polish. For me it was worth it for the deep cleaning, but I don't think it helped much for damage repair. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again because it really did come out so clean.

I truly believe the only way to fix severe pitting or deep scratches is to replace the glass altogether.

Yeah not sure you should even really attempt to repair scratches particularly with just a DA too. Even with a rotary you still would have to level the surrounding glass to the scratches. That's not happening without a tool with a lot of power and being there for hours and constantly re-wetting and adding the polish.
