I am absorbing a lot of information from this forum which has helped me narrow down what I want to add to my truck based on how I will use it. As with anything this will take some time even though I get impatient and want it done now. I don't plan on doing anything extreme with my truck and I am sure even some of the mods/add-ons I have now will change down the road. Lifting the truck is definitely something I will hold off on unless I find myself going places the stock suspension just can't handle well. As of today I am thoroughly enjoying this truck and I had some fun bombing around the foothills and desert over the weekend so I see more of that in the future. Even though its a short bed I still haul quite a bit with it. Our new dog totally digs the truck especially the back sliding window.

Also I either missed the vinyl sticker when I got my SaBellCo lock or it was missing so I found a replacement today to keep the dust out.

 

Good looking truck man! Good choice on the silver. How do you like the bed molle panels? I’m back and forth on whether they are worth the cost and whether I would actually use them or not.

I like the molle panels quite a bit for strapping items down. They give you more options for tie downs and other bags and items that are molle specific. I was using them a lot on my Bartact seat covers but some things are just meant for the bed and not the back of a seat.

I think there are less expensive options out there for molle bed systems. CaliRaised are modular and function well separate, I just bit the bullet and order them all when I had the cash.

 

I wasn't expecting this today but it showed up in the mail. Time to move to the complete list. Definitely bigger than the stock shift knob.

Removed the OEM mudflaps

 

I was motivated after installing the new wheels yesterday so I went ahead and installed the Meso map and dome lights and the Meso Ultimate turn signals. The mail arrived later in the the day and the AJT designs cup holder ring was waiting for me so I thought I would install that as well.









I forgot to post an image of this. A while back I added some paracord grab handles to the front seat head rests to help people get into the back seats.

Fall 2019:

 

Installed the Rek Gen mud flaps yesterday. This may be related only to my truck and tire/wheel setup but there was a slight rub (barely audible) at full lock going into the driveway. Being that these flaps are flexible I don't think it will be an issue plus I can always put a heat gun to that area and make it more form fitting to the wheel well. I still think it beats struggling with the OEM at this time.

I definitely like the Rek Gens they do keep the small stones from being thrown back into the truck. I really had to force the truck into a situation where it would rub and it was so minor it left a tiny scuff.

 

Installed my new to me (used) TRD pro skid plate and Avid Bumper guard. It was more work than I thought it would be but worth it. Next up will be the puddle pods and speakers since I have them ready to go.

 

More powahhhh!!

Installed the TRD CAI today. Pretty easy installation and it balances my TRD oil cap making the engine bay more turdy.

I've had a rash of people smacking my rear bumper lately so I found a small hitch skid on eBay so I thought I would give it a try with a lock and anti-rattle plate. Not 24 hours after having it on someone decided to get to close to my truck and it did its job. Not so much of a skid plate as an ok step and reminder to the dipshits not to smack my bumper. I might try a warfab one down the road but for now this will work.




I also made space in my garage and put together my rolling toolbox. Winter break I planning on doing the speaker upgrade and puddle pods. After the New Year ECGS bushing and suspension.

 

Installed the Meso puddle pods and Kicker door speaker upgrades. It took longer than expected but well worth the effort.

 

Finally finished out my interior black out pieces today with the AJT 4X4 and start button trim as well as the MESO shift boot cover which gives the Pro Shift Knob a better look in my opinion. As the weather warms I will start finishing out the rest of my mods in preparation for camping season.

Installed the mirror USB dash cam adapter. Works like a charm, much better than running a long cable. I plan on adding a short angled USB connector in the future for a cleaner look although I can't really see it behind the mirror.

 

I finally got my stitches in my back removed so I was able to do a few mods this weekend, shortening my list of new items I want to install on my truck. Once I get the last items in my initial post installed I think it will just be upgrading existing items on the truck. I am still thinking about getting sliders and I might be able to convince my wife to take a trip to Denver and pick up some from RCI while she visits with friends but that is out there and it would require pulling the predator steps prior to the trip. I installed the OEM pro fog lights, Redline Tuning hood struts, AVS window channel visors today. I am really pleased with the fog lights and hood struts but unsure if the channel visors will hold over time since my windows can be a bit flaky and I want to also get some new tint installed soon to mitigate sun exposure.

Washed the truck today since the weather is nice. Plus I wanted to get some progress pictures before my suspension upgrade is installed.
