I have a stock 2016 Tacoma with 265/70/17 cooper AT3 4S tires right now in the 115 load index. In the summer I do sometimes pull a 21ft jayco camping trailer. Do you think I should be increasing tire PSI for the heavier load? 35 PSI instead of the usual 30-32?

probably, but best way to tell if you need to make an adjustment is to do a chalk test with the trailer in tow

side question.....how'd those 4S Coopers do this past winter? I think I'm getting some family on board with them

I just put them on last month, pretty impressed so far. They are quiet as could be for an all terrain, grip snow well and not bad on ice, an ice tire would do better but as good as you probably will get out of a all season tire.

Had wrangler ATS before these also was pretty happy with them but these seem to be slightly better on ice

The ability to tow more weight increases as your tire pressure increases as well. Granted you don't want to exceed maximum tow weight rating per tire and pressure of the tire that the tire is rated to otherwise you risk having a nasty blowout.

I gotta question - did you originally tow on stock size? Is there a noticeable drop in power between 265/65 and 265/70/17? Thinking of stepping up a size purely because the 265/70s are significantly cheaper in price.

Your tire's load capacity will not increase above 36 psi.
Anything between 36 psi and the tire's max psi is used to meet the speed rating.

Stock load inflation is 2,149 lbs.
At 30 psi, your tire has a load capacity of 2,326 lbs.
At 36 psi, your tire has a load capacity of 2,679 lbs.
