WOW thats definitely not my experience with the 19800 tune on 04B31. Ive got to basically hammer the throttle to even get the truck to move off the line, similar to how it came from the factory. You definitely sure your talking about 19800 thrusting you into the back of your seat? Or are you saying you want a tune like 19800

I didn’t, but I’m also confused on which handheld is which. I was thinking that he was sending emails to tuning handhelds only, not the upgrade accessory folks. I’m an upgrade from dongle. I’m stuck in the middle, can’t get pcm files and can’t get him to ship my handheld.

So is the open flash handheld just a later version from already shipped out handhelds, or does it imply you bought the handheld as your first flashing kit?

I have been sending for both as I've been getting tickets. Also I don't think we have any more pending accessory HH orders.

Accessory is if you own a flash kit.
Openflash is for new customers who have nothing.

I will have pcm version files ready as soon as possible.

maybe I misunderstood his FB post yesterday about the HH's. there is mention of the open flash in the comments, I thought this included people who had already received then and couldn't use them yet.Screenshot_20191016-132834_Facebook.jpg

I’ve been running 19800 91oct 04b04 (the infamous .pcm file that disappeared shortly after appearing) and got to say, it is nearly perfect for me. I could easily make do with this file and not bother flashing the truck again. Tip in is perfect, with ample power on tap and predictable throttle input. I had an issue with throttle sensitivity from some of the last tunes, namely performance tunes as far back as 1.03, but this one hit the nail on the head for me. I’m not sure what to think about the vastly varying responses from everyone. Part of me wants to thing it’s variances in ECU build but I also think it may be the subjective nature of what feels “good” to each individual. Only Mat knows what is truly going on behind the scenes of each build and I hope he can wade through the shit storm of critics, see what actually needs work and what does not, and continue to pump out some awesome tunes.

I got mine from Mat a couple of days ago. Was able to install the software on my laptop and update the firmware on my accessory handheld with no issues, but there are still no tune files available for the device.

I agree with you in that its most likely ECU related. From there its how each persons truck is setup / subjective nature in how they like to drive. Glad 19800 is working out for you on your 04B04 ECU.

Here's to the wizard master for his continued dedication to this truck!

I'm also enjoying this version @ 91 octane, same ECU. Tip in is perfect for my stock Limited and for what I use it for.

Same ECU and tune file here and find it to be nearly perfect. I enjoy the shift points when I’m driving granny style (which is rare) but would really like the shift points based on any load beyond granny style to be pushed out. With a fixed throttle position, the truck accelerates consistently up until about 35-40 where the truck just looses momentum.

I did last night on the road around the lake.
Set to 40 mph, drove about 7-8 miles with no traffic infront , stayed in 5th -TC unlocked the entire stretch.
CC nicely handled a few small hills, did not downshift.
    I liked how cc performed

Got on freeway and accelerated to 65 and set CC. Stayed in 6th, TC was locked.
    P.S. 2.0 19800 87
Update: Tc locks at 43 mph on my truck.

Yep. I think there's a lot of subjectivity not only in how people perceive a particular throttle curve, but also in how folks perceive the throttle response changing as the tune settles in. I've been running OVTune since either 1.02 or 1.03 (can't remember now), and I never noticed the throttle response change one iota on any of the versions either during or after their initial learning periods. I really think with throttle curves, it's the driver that is learning, not the truck. I know when I switched from 19770 to 19800, the truck felt lifeless for about a week until I unlearned the "don't put more than a feather's weight on the pedal" touch that 19770 required if I didn't want to throw gravel or risk lurching into another vehicle while parallel parking. Now that I have recalibrated my foot, 19800 is a really nice base throttle curve.

Been running 2.0 04b30 91 Stock Exhaust and it has been fantastic all around.

One minor thing that has only happened once was out of nowhere I got a 'Key not detected' warning while driving...which certainly seems odd but again has only happened once. Anyone else?

Doubt that’s related at all. Probably the key fob battery is weak.
