I once beat a 5.0L Mustang GT convertible with a slush box AOD from a stop light and he was good to go too! It was no Tacoma though, it was a 1991 Ford Explorer. And it was no knife to a gun fight deal either. I came packing. 5.0L with a custom wide ratio AOD on a 5.5 inch lift on 32" super swampers. He walked all over me once we hit the other side of the intersection but for that brief 2 seconds, I felt like a god!

Not sure how legit this source is, but 3rd gen Tacoma is showing around 7.5 seconds. Which is what it feels like.

So, yeah, not even close. My OVTuned Tacoma on 2.0 93 octane probably shaves .5 seconds. Still not touching slow Camaro.

I like my Tacoma. There are things which disappoint me. Acceleration isn’t one of them.

Just got off the phone with the local Toyota, apparently OP has the FGTRTD mode enabled, it’s on page 86 in the owner’s manual on 19’s and up. Try it out.
