Oil change problem/question

    Ok so i just got back from walmart with two 5qt jugs of mobil 1 5-30wt oil but I happen to look at my owner manual when i got home and its says to use 5-20 and 0-20, will the 5-30 f'up my truck or will it be alright, kinda scared to fill'er up with the wrong shit.

    You should be fine with the 5w-30. I run 5w-20 with better results as far as fuel economy go. This might not be the case for everyone but I got a good 1-2 mpg better.

    The best protection against wear is probably a product that is a little thicker (such as SAE 10W-30 or 15W-40) and has more antiwear additives than the oils that support the warranty. The best oil for your vehicle depends on your driving habits, the age of your engine and the climate you drive in, but it is not necessarily the type of oil specified in the owner’s manual or stamped on the dipstick.

    Found this reference sheet thought it might be helpful.From what i know about Toyota is that some of there newer engines are running tighter oil clearances so they require lighter oil.I have seen Toyota's that are using the heaver oil with out a problem.I am a firm believer in using whats recommended but that's just me.
