RCI sliders are not full length

Was anyone else surprised when they received their RCI sliders to find out they don’t cover the full length? (Wheel well to wheel well)

I double checked the website slider page description and couldn’t find anything regarding this.

The sliders are about 5” short on both sides.

After speaking with RCI they said due to shipping methods and costs this was the longest slider they could offer. They also said it protects the most important parts of the vehicle.

I feel deceived. I love the skids, bed rack, and the design and quality of the sliders. I just think it should have been disclosed that they are not full length sliders.

 

Wtf worthless if you drop off a rock with the front wheel

Not saying I don't agree with them being less useful, but it's also not like they're being deceitful either.

 

Did you not look at photos of their product before you purchased?

you can clearly see what the look like and protect in their page. Not to mention the million pics on line of what the product looks like.

If they were longer, the thread would be
“Bed hits sliders when flexing”....or “goddam.....can fit mudflaps with sliders”.

I think they’ve hit a good compromise and am happy with mine, though I see the OPs point if he’s planning lots of rock drops.

 

I noticed the RCI length when I was shopping for sliders...one of the many reasons I went with Avid.

 

No different on short bed. Exact same as mine.

 

very very slight increase in length, but we hear you. Good on you for doing your due diligence.

 

All of the side view pictures are at an angle, I guess they couldnt step back far enough to get a straight view.

 

They are actually shorter in the back compared to the RCI.

 

Come on some of you are not going to need sliders in the Jimmy Johns parking lot while out running errands with the girlfriend, but wait Jimmy is out because he likes to hunt big game so Subway it is at the local gas station. Jared and Subway may have done some shady shit, but that's ok. Your girlfriend well she's going to have the lettuce rap because that little tummy well her thighs are now on board, but don't worry about that the only reason you've grown that beard is because your face is getting fat like your lipid panel. In the end sliders don't matter because at Trader Joes you'll pull into a spot in front of the store thinking the day is going ur way only to have a distracted dog mom that was picking up a case of two buck chuck mash her Range Rover into your drivers door. It will be at this time that your girlfriend Sarah will snarky say where are your sliders now? There will be a big blow out and when you get back to your place she leaves and you spend the rest of the night stewing in the garage not for love lost, but a door crease

Exactly. On a flat ledge are going to rest on your cabmount or the sliders before you crush the body, and it would have to be a sharp upward pointing rock to actually do damage, but possible. OP has longbed of course, so that’s a whole other issue.
