Great week in the White Mountains .
PACHETA was doing great although the lake is way down - lots of 17-19" fish and some 20+.
Reservation lake was ok and drift fence was good on dry flies.
Getting out of PACHETA on Monday was a bitch.
That's it for us until Spring 2019.

About to buy a boat but before I do I need some advice. The boat I am about topurchase has no title, should I worry at all? I am going to put a motor on it so how would I go about getting a title as well?

Cool. Didn’t realize the canals hold fish like this. Are they stocked?

Maybe some do it illegally, depending on where you're at. These canals by my house are fed by the salt river I'm assuming most come in as small fish or as eggs

Someone told me catfish from the canal are the best eating cause theyre constantly fighting the current. Never tried though :notsure:

I just took my boys fishing this last weekend and caught a nice cat. About 14” long. My same boy caught a 33” carp too. Broke the line after it was in the net. It had 2 other hooks in it.

Everything else we caught was bluegill.

Anyone have any ponds or creeks they can recommend? If you dont feel comfortable sharing with the public (which I totally understand, someplace have been trashed.. the Gila for example) send me a PM? Lakes have been fun but I wanna try something different. I've been trying to find some spots on Google earth but not a whole lot of luck. Making use of the photos they have from 1997 to see how long water has been there to determine how big the fish may be. Also looking at some spots of the Gila and verde river.

Second the black river. Also reaches of the verde river. I’ve had luck with bass in the sheep’s bridge area. A bit far for the day, but a good weekend trip with lots of good scenery, low pressure, and great camping.

Is there a peak time frame for striped bass bite? And what is a good lure to use? We threw some today off the bank but nothing biting

This is pretty much the best time until May. About later spring they will start going deeper to cooler water. Larger fish will tend to stay below 35-40' much of the time. Throw big spinners, cranks, swimbaits... even anchovy on a bobber with 3' leader.
