My battery in my third gen finally took a crap yesterday. After replacing it, the drivers side automatic window is no longer working. It will go up and down if i hold the button, but not if i push it down as per the norm.

    Anyone else experience this?

I'm not exactly sure what the post was about but they had the same issue your having, and someone responded telling them how to reset them

My wife's Mazda 3 does this when I change the battery or disconnect it for any reason. After a couple of weeks, without doing anything to it, the window switch behaves normally. One of life's great mysteries. Though I've never had the issue with my Tacoma after disconnecting it, and I haven't replaced the battery yet. Both had Panasonic batteries from the factory, but I run a Duralast Gold in the Mazda now.

I believe you just roll it all the way down and keep holding the button down a couple seconds then all the way up and hold button up a couple seconds.

Edit: you must do this with each front window.

my audi had to be reset when the battery was disconnected, If i recall it was open the window all the way, then close all the way and repeat and it was programmed, im not sure if this is the case here.

Why? It's in the owner's manual.

I guess not everyone might not have bought their truck new, and don't have the owners manual
