While they look similar, there are key design points that make them a much stronger slider overall. Excellent choice by the way, I’m totally biased.
Mobtown does on all sliders, and BAMF does on their dclb ones last I checked.

I mainly meant on a Tacoma.

I think you’re getting a lot more grief than you deserve, but if the majority of builders dont make full size sliders then RCI not calling out the length isn’t really deception just unfortunate in your case.

Im glad you posted this though, gives me another thing to think about when deciding on sliders.

dude worthless sliders? No sliders are the only worthless sliders. Think about distance out from the rocker as well. Many people defending your “objectivity” forget the worthless sliders trash post. All of this damage would’ve been prevented if I’d installed mine earlier but by your definition are worthless.

Such a different community here compared to the Land Cruiser forum.

So much hate for trying to help others here.

The Land Cruiser forum was all about helping others.

Man I’m not trying to hate and I understand your frustration, but the worthless comment was ridiculous and you know it. As far as help goes, the manufacturer ain’t gonna help you here, so pull those fuckers off and break out the welder. Where you at? I’ll help you?

I stand by my worthless comment. We’re talking about protecting your truck when using it for off-road. It’s what I paid for and what was implied by RCI.

I knew this thread wasn’t going to be pretty but someone needed to speak up.

Paying $1000+ bucks for partial sliders, having them delivered, installed and then finding out they are partial sliders is wrong.

Jeez boy, take them off and sell them already--you won't have any trouble getting very nearly what you paid!

Seriously. Post them on the for sale thread.

Worthless because a few inches aren't protected? That seems exaggerated, especially since something will eventually get damaged if you go off-road anyway.

I haven’t really looked at the specific 80 setup where sliders are concerned, however I do know that the cab mount is solidly in the way of any sliders extending to the wheel well on the Tacoma. In the rear you run into the front leaf mount and the frame ramping up. Admittedly I’m pretty unfamiliar with lengths on the dclb but if the leafs are there then that’s basically a slider, you can’t put a tight-fitting chunk of metal under them anyway. That’s also something you may have not considered when comparing a vehicle with linked suspension to a leaf sprung one.

also with the 80, were you bending control arms left and right? These tolerances that are being discussed would be ripping control arms up all the time.

I have BAMF sliders and I think they provide better coverage (some gap at the back, but front is pretty tight).

I feel for the OP. I would have assumed that all sliders provided similar coverage and the differences were in strength, style, and mounting. I would have been wrong.

I learned something from the OP that will help me if I ever shop for sliders again. Thank you OP.
