So my 2011 Tacoma’s doors stopped locking and unlocking with the key fob. Determined it was the actuator motor that was the problem. So I bought replacement motors and went about replacing them in the actuators. Only problem was when I was putting the actuator back together I put it back together incorrectly. The lock will now lock and unlock with the fob, but I didn’t check to make sure that it would open the door once closed. So now the door is closed and pulling the handles won’t open it. Does anyone know of a way to take the door off so that I am able to get to the actuator. Just didn’t want to spend a couple thousand at the mechanics to take it off.

If you have already installed the inner cover on the door you will have a bad time of it.

There have been some posters that have done the same. I'll never understand why you didn't test it before installing the inside cover or before you actually closed the door.

    Wishing you good luck.
