Hey everyone, just got my Tacoma a few weeks ago. A 2019 trd off-road. Looking at a lift kit and cmc. Anyone have suggestions of a shop for install?

Debating doing the lift myself. I used to have a fj that I've done a few on, have never done rear leafs though

    Thanks

The front is the hard part leaf springs are easy in comparison. If you’re doing an add a leaf a pair of decent “c” clamps makes it pretty simple.

Toytec is on the north side of town but does installs.

I think I'm just looking for a capable rig to do some camping in the mountains. Planning on a rtt 33" tires , armor etc.

My fj had a ome lift with bilstein, it was great but stiff.

Been back and forth between needing a lift with resi or not. Don't plan on any high speed runs etc. On the low end I'm considering the boss aluma kit in the opposite end looking at foxs with resi and adjustment.

Rear leafs are easy, just a pain in the ass compared to coil springs because they are heavy and bulky

I personally dislike toytec. Of course this is a personal preference.

I would tackle this myself. Not a hard job to complete unless you don't have a welder or garage.

Let me stress this is my own personal opinion.

But I've known 3 toytec users that had leak issues that started within either weeks or months or install. When trying to get the company to fix them, they were given the run around, one was even told to go to Bilstein for the warranty fix. Another guy was sent a front coil over with a bent top mount.

Now again this can happen with any company honestly. But for a company that just takes other products, puts it all together, and brands it something else. It's a bad taste for me.

I'll add that not one of the 3 people I knew had hit any trails or off road time by the time the leaks and issues started.

No welder so at minimum I was going to have some one do the cmc and the lift myself. No garage but that's fine can figure that out. Leaning to do it myself, the fj wasn't bad think I can figure the leafs out.

I did my lift in the street in front of my house. Took all day, but garage or shop is overrated lol

To be fair if it was a failure of a Bilstein product then Bilstein would be the one to seek for the warranty. That's how it is with most everything.
As to the issues dealing with customer service, I've heard good and bad. I've dealt with them and they've been great for me, but I've heard others that haven't had as good of time. To be fair to all, I wasn't there to hear either side of the story...

All that said, OP if you're looking from OME to Fox I'd recommend looking to Accutune for a complete setup as you can get Fox or King valved to your specific setup and and a truly tailored setup.

Sent ya a pm on the cmc.
As for lift personally I like king more than fox. Just how things are setup and attention to detail is better.
If you want fox, I do have some 2.0 shocks for the rear for sale.

If you need a shop, Call Andrew at Altitude Offroad in Castle Rock. He does work on quite a few Tacomas and he did my gears earlier this month.
He does lifts and fabrication including CMC. Really good guy.
