I have a 96 regular cab 2.7 that I am currently swapping a 3.4 out of a 99 extended cab. I'm hoping that I can retain my 96 dashboard and just swap the instrument cluster and wiring harness over. Anyone have experience with this?

For anybody looking for the answer to this it is possible. I used all the dash switches, climate controls, instrument cluster, and harness out of a 99 and it bolted directly in to a 96. I did not have to change the blower motor as they were the same. Please note you will lose your airbag system as the 95-97 do not have passenger airbags. I did this when swapping the 2.7 for a 3.4. in a off road truck.
