Hey guys, went camping this weekend and found some things that I'm not real happy with on this Tacoma. We were blasting down some dirt roads that were relatively smooth and I bottomed out the rear suspension pretty damn hard a couple of times. I had about 350lbs of stuff bed of the truck (Mostly extra water, cooler + ice.. etc), and about 550lbs of people in the cab.

Since I won't be driving with that kind of load in the truck on a regular basis I was considering some airlift airbags with the on-board compressor/controller so I can adjust as needed with the load.

Other option would be to swap over to hydraulic bump stops. I really liked them on my Raptor and I'm 99% sure they prevented me from tweaking the hell out of my frame over some kickers.

Obviously a 3rd option would be a different spring pack, but I really don't want to stiffen up the suspension since the on-road ride was a big reason for buying this truck in the first place.

    2nd Question:

I'm wanting to swap to a RTT since I loathe sleeping on the ground and the places I like to camp aren't some where I want to screw with a trailer. The problem is that I want to be able to leave the rack in place (minus tent) and still load my dirt bike in the truck bed. Any racks that have removable cross braces?

Crossbars on my KB Voodoo bed rack are easy to remove/pull off while leaving the uprights installed. But at that point, Id probably leave the uprights attached and unbolt them from the bed rails and hoist the whole thing up/remove the tent+crossbars (and not leave just the uprights). I'll probably be setting up a pulley system in my garage so I can easily do this.
