Just got an OME lift, 883s, Dakars with AAL, Nitros. I have a cap, ARB bumper, and RTT. ( more weight coming). Info on rims/tires would be nice. I'm interested in rims that work the best eliminating wheels spacers. Right now I have stock alloys and don't mind getting something recommended that works better. If anyone wants to post pics of other wheel/tire combos that's fine, just inform how you made it work. I've seen most everything on here, but not everything. Links and pics appreciated. Thx 265/70/r16s, general AT2 WITH 75K on them in pic

It's a little unclear what you're asking for... the 16" OEM rims work just fine and have a lot of benefits, so you may just want to stick with those.

Here are a couple things to keep in mind:
    • You'll want a 16" rim if you ever want to install Tundra brakes (which can be helpful with lots of weight).
    • Rims with less backspacing will give you a wider, more agressive look, but will also mean more mud on your rig when wheeling.
    • Diameter of tires and wheel spacers aren't the only thing to think about when you worry about rubbing. This is a good article that talks about all the considerations, and what you'll (generally) need to do for various tire sizes: What size tires fit my lifted Tacoma?

Personally, I've run several different wheel tire combos. Here's my thinking on each:

Stock wheels, 31x10.5" tires (link to more)
Worked great, no rubbing at all. No extra ground clearance either.

16" OEM spare steelies, with 255/85R16 BFG KM2s (link to more)
Steelies worked great since they were OEM, but I wasn't a huge fan of the KM2s in snow (they were scary). Nor was I really a fan of the steelie look.

16" SCS Stealth6, with 255/85R16 Cooper ST Maxx (link to more)
Great looking wheel, but with 3.5" backspacing it stuck out past the flare. This meant that the truck was always muddy and I didn't like that. Tires were the best at their size IMO. Only thing I don't like about them is the load E, which makes them stiffer than C.

16" 4Runner 5-spoke with 255/85R16 Cooper ST Maxx (link to more)

As OEM wheels with 4.5" backspacing, these pulled the tires back under the wheel wells. Love the wheels. I felt like the tires were the best I could get (with limitations above, so went with them again).

All great info. I'll be checking out that article tonight. I also thought the Tundra brake upgrade might be smart but haven't researched that one yet. I do like the stock rims and that they keep the truck cleaner. I'm kind of in analysis paralysis on tire size right now. I have had a lot of great input on here from other members which has got me this far. Your truck looks solid, nice build. Thanks for the info. This subject has been so repeated that I thought maybe I'd get zero posts and even some heckling lol. Still time for that haha, but I'll take it.
So you might have me back on the 255/85s train. 33s really look good on these trucks
