thanks for that it would indeed work just have to rig a simple harness to mount on the GFC. It’s my first garage and it’s my wife’s workshop also so don’t get too jealous...

Got our GoFast installed last week. They're now charging $175 for installs at their plant.

Their website says for orders placed after June 1, 2019. Did you have to pay for install on an order placed before that date?

You seriously going to sell those? For the right price - I want a couple. I never did understand why you would have an 'awning' that doesn't stay up.

I love my GFC but that's one of the things that kinda drives me crazy.

I need to buy a real awning as well. Anyone running one of the chinese ones? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075L4YDG...olid=146VHOKANBZE2&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

That wouldn't fly with me, you can't call an audible on a paid invoice, that's shady.

I bought one of those. I've installed it but haven't used it yet. Can't beat the price. The construction quality looks OK. I'm not sure if it differs much from the ARB.

I've got an 8' x 8' that I got even cheaper than that one, so it was a no-brainer. I have no experience with ARBs or the like, so no basis for comparison. As far as quality, this one definitely isn't going to last forever, but if treated with care I'd give it a couple years of typical weekend warrior use.
Having said that, YMMV - for example, when I received it one of my horizontal poles had a broken end cap (the piece that holds the threaded rod which inserts into the extrusion to provide tension). I was able to get it re-attached with some sealant/adhesive and it's been totally fine so far. The material also has a number of pinholes, and the seams weren't fully waterproof in heavy rain either. But again, for the price, I'm not complaining.

So I see you didn't relocate your brake light. :) I was thinking that I might relocate to the door so it's functional after I put on an awning.

    Cheers,

I saw that before but haven't gotten around to making one. Does it attach on the rail or just sit against the GFC frame?

Nice awning! Is that a 270?

It just sits against the frame. The angle of the string holds it back against the frame.

Thanks. I have a kinsmen hardware 270. Ive had 2 other awnings amd never used them due to set up time and difficulty. I use the kinsmen all of the time.

Yes, the early units had the brake light installed on the extrusion. I haven't gotten around to moving it to the door. For me to make it work involves messing with some wiring hidden under the interior trim mixed with other wires. I can't just wire it to the brake light in the tail light housing. I'll get to it eventually. I'm a bit timid about messing with the factory wiring in an almost new truck.

Saw a GFC post on IG recently that showed a bunch of campers on their delivery trailer. From what I saw it looked like units with no rear window had brake light on the panel and units with the rear window had the brake light mounted on the extrusion. Can anyone confirm if this is the way they're doing them now.

I sent an email back in June, inquiring about the 3rd brake light. I was informed by Mike that the 3rd brake lights are located on the rear panel now, because of ease of installation & future servicing.

GFC has some small bolts in the tubing that allows for mounting accessories. Do not get these confused with the bolts with orange (maybe its still orange) paint marks which hold the extrusion down.
