Not that I have to do any maintenance under the hood for another 20 months, I still have had this itch to get lights under the hood. We sell the K/C Cyclones at work (4wheelparts.com) and they were on sale buy 1 get 1 free yesterday, so decided to bite the bullet. The install is loosely based around their Tacoma specific kit, but being the deal, the fact I wanted it trigged by the hood opening, and I have plenty of wire...

Here is the hood kit they sell: http://www.kchilites.com/under-the-hood-cyclone-led-light-kit-toyota-tacoma-kc-353.html

    So here's what I got...

Didn't want an ugly bolt inside of it so opted for some Christas Tree Clips (or whatever you decide to call them.)

Clipped them into factory provided holes..'

Both in, wires soldered and ready for loom..

    Loomed and pretty.

How I ran it from hood to engine bay.

Like I said, I didn't want a manual switch.. So I went with the same pin switch like I used in my bed light set up. (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...tch-tailgate-trigger-pin-and-override.392652/)

After testing the hole next to where I had to drill, I decided/had to put the switch here. Only place it fits and hood hits it..

    All hooked up and one!

I'll get a night time pic tonight.

I do not have it wired 100% yet.. The pin switch is the ground trigger. I have it tied into the bed lights temporarily. I plan on building a secondary fuse box, and when I do that I'll finish wires properly. Right now just fused into an open spot on the OE fuse box.

@xjoey dubsx How are those panel retainers holding out? Those holes in the hood are the perfect placement, but I’m skeptical about those plastic retainers.

I’m installing these Sunday so trying to plan ahead.

With the trigger pin u got is it the ground wire hooked up to it. I’m trying to figure out why my kc cyclone hood lights can be triggered just by tapping into the positive and it’ll light with out grounding
