We have a Powerstep from a Jeep Wrangler and are looking to modify it to have it work on a 2004 Toyota Tacoma. However I'm curious has anyone done this before? Also if so what kind of modifications did you make and any big speed bumps? Alternatively, I know PowerStep makes a model for the Gen 2's. Has anyone tired to install those on a 2004? I know the frame is a bit different than the Gen 2's and may need modification for it to work and the wiring might be a bit different, but hey that what makes it cool and custom. Any input is appreciated, thanks!

He said power STEP, not power STOP.

I haven't seen anyone do this, but I don't see why you couldn't if you made your own mounts. You'd want to measure the length and make sure it will fit though.

    Sorry, read that as PowerStop.

Anything is possible with enough :sawzall: and :welder:

Since you don't mention if you have a double cab, single cab or an extra cab, and there are about 500 different models/years or wrangler, there's no telling what length you have, and what length you need for your Tacoma.

Best to just take the steps you have and start test fitting on the Tacoma. It's going to be easier to shorten them. Lengthening them would likely look stupid unless you're a pretty experienced fabricator.

You'll at least need to modify the mounting brackets, or even fabricate entirely new ones (that's usually easier than trying to modify existing ones, anyway).

Wiring is easy. Just power (direct to battery probably) and the door open sensor.
