What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Oh nice. The more I look into this, the more I've realized the LEDs are not a good fit without the correct setup. I didn't realize a whole LED system is required and not just the bulb to make it safe. I just assumed it would be ok this way since I see it on the road so often.
I think I might give this method a shot shortly. I am really disappointed with the power of the stock lights. Thanks for the information.. it's much appreciated!

 

Just looking back through old pictures, I actually really miss my yellow headlights. I'll probably never do it again, but I'm glad I did it.

Were you ever harassed by law enforcement when using these?

 

Picked up my DRL bulb socket and retainer for the filler panel today.
I also got some screws to replace the ones that were really rusty.

Installed new OME Dakar EL095R leaf pack. I always had a 2" block and wanted to upgrade to something useful. One day I broke a leaf so it was a perfect time to upgrade!
Installation obviously didn't go as planned... rusty bolts and cutting Ubolts. The "Toyota expert" shop I bought everything at also gave me the wrong new Ubolts... so I had to run around town on a Sunday late afternoon to find some that would fit before the stores closed. Needed to get to work on Monday. Ha!

Now I just need to install my Trim Packer Kit.

Yup... all the time. I got 3 tickets for it but technically it's not illegal. Never paid for a single one

 

Damn that's what i figured. What did they ticket you for if it wasn't "illegal"?

 

Unfortunately the law has so many codes, that when an officer is out on the road there is no way he could memorize all of them. A lot of them are subjective as well and change state to state. In Indiana there are only 6 offenses that you are sworn to uphold. (murder, felony, domestic, DUI... i cant recall the others right now) Edit: non of which are traffic violations. The other million are officer and department discretion.

Lots of cops dont know the law. If it's different they'll try and write you a ticket. Or they just figure people wont have the time to refute it

 

I'm running 3in blocks no issues and got maximum height

 

I finally got back in a tacoma.... after almost a year of hating life in a 99 4runner and selling it and continued searching for months.... my first was an 07 DCSB and this one is an 07 DCLB.

I'm thinking about doing a build page for it just to keep the memory for me.

Here is my new baby. It's weird starting from square one again but it is pretty nice to have parts lying around to do some quick mods.

Not blaming the blocks for breaking the leafs. Just wear and tear.
Neither am I saying the blocks suck.

I put my block lift in when I was 18 and wanted to spend $450 not $4,500. 5 years later I want to upgrade.
Now I have a RTT and go camping all the time. Now and then I haul a quad/sled trailer around. I don't want to sag as much.

 

Were you able to keep much of the old parts that weren't damaged? You may not have wanted to.

 

No I was dumb and thought I would get money for my lift, wheels and tires.... that didnt go well. My retro fit headlights were obviously trashed so those were the most expensive i couldnt get back.

Funny enough the truck auctioned for almost 9k when they put it up. I was gunna try and buy it back but not for that much lol

 

Looking to paint the taco, just torn on the colour, also if i should colour match the hood when i paint it or leave the hood and grill black. Also not sure if i should throw on a nice set of bushwackers probably not much wider than factory fender flares. Let me know what you guys think, Thanks for your input.
