    Unlawful coasting on downgrade

    • • exception
    • • penalty
(1)A person commits the offense of unlawful coasting on a downgrade if the person is the driver of a vehicle on a downgrade and the person coasts with the gears or transmission of the motor vehicle in neutral or with the clutch disengaged.

Isn't that silly? I have no idea how it's enforced.

I like to coast up to stops in neutral singing "Breaking the Law" by Judas Priest.

That right there is why I made sure I got a 2018 Pro over a 2019 was for the extra headroom. Maybe it's better with the power seats now...

Lots of folks on here buy the auto and say they regret not getting the manual and/or the shifting sucks.

Pretty much zero people on here buy the manual and say they wish they would have got the auto.

Think it depends on the makeup. I'm a little north of 6'3" but more torso than legs. Would have hit my head going over bumps with the sunroof in place.

    Good point!

I have owned many manual vehicles and do enjoy them. That being said, at some point I get tired of working the clutch and having to shift... but that's usually a brief frustration that passes.

If I were stuck with the auto not doing what I want on a frequent basis that would be a more permanent frustration. I know you can re gear the truck and it seems to solve the auto issue...but I wouldn't want to NEED that re gear immediately. And it still doesn't guarantee the trans would respond quickly enough for my satisfaction when I mash the pedal. That would still bother me if the response to downshift lags badly like every other damn modern auto I've driven lately.

If I get a Tacoma, (regardless of trans) I would probably do a lift and bigger tires, but those would be upgrades over time, not immediately.

Yep. I was really worried about this, too. I could only get my index finger between the top of my head and the headliner... even with the new power seat all the way down.
