Well that was a very positive post for you to make in this thread

 

Idk how you guys struggle so much putting leafs in. I can do it easy and have it all line up.

 

Last couple of times I installed an AFR gauge, I just took the bung and got it welded on my exhaust by a muffler shop.

The rest is simply running power and ground, and the air/fuel sensor has a harness that directly connects to your gauge.

 

The job itself was easy, it was just getting the front OME Dakar leaf pack on both sides to line up with the mount to get the bolt through.

Ratchet strap around the rear axle, with the hook anchored to the frame as an anchor; ratchet that thing up and it slowly pulls the axle forward so everything lines up.

 

take both packs off at the same time
Hold the axle in your lap.
Put in the leaf and leave everything lose.
Do the opposite for the other side
Tighten everything.
No alignment issues at all


I never have to fight with the leafs to align them

 

I take it you dont work on rusty vehicles. Leafs are a half day job for me. Only done it 4 times...

 

Why? Sawzall all bolts, hit everything left with a BFH

Nope. Takes me like 2 hours to swap a set out. Ive done it like 5-6 times

 

Still a pain in the dick to get a sawzall in there.

I will say the AAL's on the 08 were way easier to install. On my 04 I had to remove the whole packs to install them, didnt have to on the 08.

 

I need to take my leaf packs off to replace the front bushing; you should knock it out for me while I go take a shit.

 

Easy. I changed the bushings on @lucky13don. Held the back in my lap. Knocked the bushing put then through the pack in his truck

 

fine, the 4.5" grinder is my go to anyways

 

Just throw away the leafs and 4link

 

Our executive assistant's husband works for Coors and brought in some extra for us to take home


I grabbed 2 flats but might get some more if there's still a ton left when I leave

 

I agree to that its easy to direct wire but wiring up to the lights, dimmer and tach signal that may require a bit more work.

I use the dimmer wire on the clock plug behind the panel to the right of the ignition cyl

 

I'd like those brakes on the 5 lug.

 

Its similar. The one I'm installing is a Innovate Motorsports 3892 PSB-1 it just has additional functions like rpm light that comes on at a set rpm to indicate shifting and such, not really needed but since I have it would be nice to wire it up with everything else.

I have 5 wires that come out of mine.
Red - Power ( going to use a power source from the fuse box with a spliced in wire like this: Just need to know which location will be best to tie this into
Black - Ground (ground to chasse directly?)
White - Ground/ headlight on wire (for automatic dimmer to turn on) Not sure where is connection would be made
Yellow - This will go to my FIC-6
Purple - Tach signal/ RPM Not sure where is connection would be made
