It really varies, my career department has a policy on tattoos, I've never read it, and once summer rolled around my boss never made any mention of it. The next township over to the right, they don't permit anything showing and have to have it covered, but the township south of us, they hired a guy right before I got hired at my job, and he's fully covered went from full-time tattoo artist to full-time fire inspector.

I've considered getting my hands done, but that was when I still worked for the Fire Academy that had no tattoo policy at all, which is how I finally decided to go full sleeves. Now I am just sticking to finishing my sleeves and then going to work on my back and legs. Which reminds me I've not posted an updated picture of my one arm.

Crappy pictures but meh. I’ll get good ones once we finish, I think the next session should do it to finish the upper portion of the back ground.

Interesting. Thanks for the insight. I wonder if fire departments will eventually find tattoos more socially acceptable and allow more visible ink over time as times seem to be leaning towards

They should considering most of the “firefighter type” people, love or have tattoos cause we are the crazy ones that like to help people

I think it’s slowly becoming more acceptable honestly. As long as they are “clean”. If that makes sense...

Its gonna be a sensitive spot forsure. Wasnt to bad this time though, since we only did line work in that area. Once we start packing in the black it aint gonna be fun.

    Sounds like fun.... not.

Doing my knee cap next month.. not entirely sure if I am looking forward to it or not. Just had two back to back sessions on my elbow, Artist is “giving me a break” because she wants to do the knee at the convention.

Speaking of.. this was the last session, going to do another negative design on the elbow To match my wrist, I think that session will tie everything together.

Mine right now stop just below the knee. Dreading getting those done. So far the most painful was either my throat, or my armpit (the whole armpit). They were both pretty terrible. I'm kind of sissy about it though lol. I'm not one of the tough "nah, it didnt hurt....I almost fell asleep" guys

Thank you!! She is awesome, and all of my tattoos from this artist look like they're only a few months old, she just knows how to pack color into the skin! I need to get some better photographs of the whole sleeve once we are done the entire thing. She is doing a great job of picking up halfway through. (My original artist up and sold her shop and moved down south for about 6 years)

Yeah man, not sure what to think bout the knee cap either. Its getting done as well as the back side. I think certain areas of the knee will be worse than others. Kinda like the elbow and ditch. Didnt think it was to bad until he hit the funny bone. Thats shit was not funny.
Agreed on the purple, def pops.
Gotta let me/ us know bout the knee and how it goes. I have 2 mo before my next sesh, then do 3 to 4 back to back wks
