How does a 2 year old toyota get that low on oil? I have a 2005 Camry with 170,000 miles (275,000km) and it takes zero oil between oil changes. 4 Toyotas and I’ve never seen one use oil.

$50-ish for a complete oil change or $x,000's for a new motor. I know which option I would choose. Would atleast be easy to rule this out at a minimum.

I've always wondered if that actually works.

She was driving, turned off the motor and checked oil immediately. No time for the oil circulating through the engine to have drained back into the pan, therefore it was an incorrect reading on the dipstick.

Haha, if she did that at least I wouldn't have to drain all the extra oil I ended up with in my engine! I have an advanced wife, she drives manual Civic Si.

Updates! Brought Taco today to a dealership to do an oil change.

Bad news: they dropped some tool on my bumper and scratched it(minor scratch, I wouldn't even notice). Service manager apologized and offered free repair in bodyshop.
Good news: I also showed him a much bigger rub at the corner of the bumper I did when I scraped a pole. He said he will fix it as well for inconvenience.
Bad news: I am in RAV4 for a time being.
Good news: offloaded RAV4 to wife and got to drive her 2018 Civic Si turbo-lawnmower.
Good news: they forgot to charge me for oil change, and I only remembered about it at home.

There isn't any horrible engine noise, to be honest, that I could detect. Did she mistake new TRD Intake with smaller resonator for an engine noise? I don't know.
