Hello I have recently purchased an 2004 SR5 Tacoma and it runs good, but every time I fill up the car it has trouble starting right after, that's the only time it has trouble starting. Is this an issue I should be worried about?

    thanks

Might be the charcoal cannister...if the previous owner over filled the gas tank past the pump click regularly it can flood the cannister and cause issues.

I'm not sure how to check for that though other than it might throw a check engine light...is yours on?

    OME and worth every penny.
Certainly sounds like a charcoal prob. but you may have a broken seal somewhere on the system.

Surprised there's no code but strangeness happens.

Purge valve might be stuck open, dumping fuel vapor into the intake behaving like the vent valve. I would try to plug it off.

Yes whenever I fill it up the pump constantly clicks like the tank is filled already which I found was odd in the first place. Yes the check engine light turned on 6 days after I purchased the truck which was yesterday, I took it to a local automotive repair shop and they said it was an air leak when we popped open the hood it looked like there was an vacuum hose missing, but that's another problem is that I can't find any vacuum hose diagram that shows where we think the hose is missing.

And they couldn't figure it out? That's a bit spooky.

Well its what the ODM read that it was a leak and we checked the gas cap seal and it was in good shape. Whoever worked on it last put a cap over one of the exit points where the hose is suppose to be, then he told me I can find the diagram and put it on myself.

IMG_20191023_224059219.jpg Hard start after fill up is usually Purge selnoid on top of wheel well driver side under hood. Pump handle clicking off is because the EVAP cannister IS flooded and the tank vent is in fuel fill neck just below fuel IMG_20191023_224036969.jpg IMG_20191023_224059219.jpg fill opening.
