Anyone have problems with the back doors on DBL cab locking back on their own. The interior light goes out and then the timer locks the doors back. Is there a fix short of buying new door switches? Thanks for any help!

That is a normal operation if the door is unlocked with the FOB and not physically opened within 30 seconds. From the service manual:

    http://www.customtacos.com/tech.old...toyewd/06toypdf/ewd/2006/tacoma/h/em01d27.pdf

    Auto Lock Function
When the door is not actually opened within 30 seconds after the door has been unlocked by the unlock SW on the transmitter
, all the doors are automatically locked. If any of the following conditions are detected, the wireless door lock does not function.
    ∗ Any door is opened.
∗ The ignition key is inserted into the ignition SW.
∗ When the lock detection SW of all the doors are locked.

    Illuminated Entry Function

When the body ECU detects the unlock state after the unlock operation has been made, it turns on the lights, such as the interior light for approx. 15 sec. If all the doors are locked during this operation, lighting is cancelled and the lights immediately fade out.

I'm thinking they are after-market locks. The OEM locks ALL doors. For UNLOCK is Driver's, then at second FOB press is ALL passenger's door unlock. For door switch is ALL doors unlock/lock. Key in door is like fob.

Thanks guys for this info, I probably wasn't completely clear. I work outa my truck, and it has 370k + on the ticker. When I double click to unlock the right side rear door, AND open it, the light comes on, then very shortly( less that 15 sec) the light goes out, and the doors lock with the door open. I have tried to bump the rubber door switch that delays the action only 2 or 3 seconds. I don't want to screw up the lockin system by digging into the wiring if there is an easier way short of big $$ at the dealer. Thanks again for any wisdom...!

    Ok that makes more sense.

    Illuminated Entry Function
When the body ECU detects the unlock state after the unlock operation has been made, it turns on the lights, such as the interior light for approx. 15 sec. If all the doors are locked during this operation, lighting is cancelled and the lights immediately fade out.

The problem is more than likely that the door plunger switch is not working so the Body ECU doesn't know that the door is open. It unlocked but it did not see that the door was actually opened. Remove the switch ( one bolt ) and it is only connected by one wire, it uses the mount as the negative. Clean or replace the switch mechanism.

As a quick, but not so definitive test.

Open each door. One at a time. With only one door open at a time.
Does the Open Door Warning Light (on the dash) come on with the door open?
Manually press the Door Switch - in and out - and see what happens.
This should get you started with the diagnosis.

But I believe JimmyH has it figured out.
    Nice job JimmyH:thumbsup:

    More than I can afford
Easy way to tell if it is the door pin.

    Unlock all doors.
Open driver's door to end the relock.
    Close driver's door
Wait for the dome light to go out
    Open problematic door.

If the dome light doesn't turn on, it is your door pin.

I have this problem with my wife's lexus (has the same door pins) all the time.
Usually unbolting the pin switch and cleaning the bolt and threads in the door jamb fixes the ground and they work for a while.

My camper shells on two of my trucks have power locks tied to the keyless entry so opening them doesn't end the relock timer. I work construction and am in/out of the back of my truck all the time. Always have to remember not to set my keys down in the back and close the rear hatch. Yes, I locked my damn keys in there once.
