New to this forum, but have been members of many others. Just got a great deal on a ‘98 SR5 Ext cab that came with a Leer Camper. After searching the inter web over and over I’ve come up with no results.

Other than finding some images of racks over camper tops. Yet, wanting to see if anyone on here has purchased one or was it a custom build?

    Current Parts on Order:
    1) Bilstein 5100s
    2) ToyTec Add a Leaf 2”
    3) Front Diff Drop Kit

My Yota Below in it’s current state.

I've seen a few custom built, but nothing sold to public. a couple have the "rack" that goes in from the sides under the cap, but it's a weak point.

a couple have drilled holes in the cap and used rubber seal or boots to keep the water out, and then running straight to the bed for rigidity.

your googled image has theirs connected to the sliders for support as well, very nicely designed I must say.

My leer shell has a max roof weight capacity of 150 pounds. I see the guy who built the truck in the pic got around that by using the sliders and rear bumper to support the weight instead of the leer top. Great idea, never seen it done before.

It will come down to just how you attach the rack .

To the cap your really limited to the amount of weight sort of defeats the idea .

Would your rack stay on the truck or be put on as needed ?

Draw what you have in mind ? Give us an idea .

What kind of budget are you working with ??
