I've had staples removed from the knee numerous times and doesn't hurt !!! , actually feels like a Bee sting x 68

Back in 2016 when I had my last TKR revision I had about the same number of staples . It took my doctor less than 5 min to remove them and the sound of ea staple falling into a metal pan sounded strange

There's a few that he'll have to dig at as the skin grows over them . My brother made a comment that my scar resembles a shark bite and if was over on the islands it would be a great conversation starter

Once my knee heals up I'm getting a tattoo that resembles a access plate with screws with blood dripping . This plate will surround the scar and a Military style warning sign saying " warning remove for repair "

I've lived in many places, including California back in the late 1970s. Some things cost the same eveywhere, new cars, and most new durable goods. Salaries are higher in high costs places like most of California. So you can more easily afford a new Tacoma for example on California wages than you can on Arkansas (where I live now) wages. But virtually everything else, housing, food, gasoline, taxes, are less in other places. I think you'll be surprised at how cheap some things are, and how some things cost pretty much the same. We lived in Texas for 8 years, no state income tax, woo hoo. But the reality is that they make it up in higher property taxes, and higher taxes and fees on everything from fishing license to car titles to any type of permit.

For me, it all comes down to 3 things. Firearms, Taxes, and the Military. Treat me good on these three and I'll put up with a lot. Screw me on any of these and I'm looking for a new place to live. My wife is already retired and I'm getting close. Arkansas has a tax structure that is very friendly to retirees, gun laws are about as lax as anywhere, and we have lots of retired military here as well as active duty Air Force in the area. It works for us, and is centrally located to where our 5 kids are.

We have chosen Montana. We have been to all the states and Montana just called out to me. There isn’t sales tax but they do tax your retirement to a certain degree. We have a while before we can move so I’m sure things will change. It’s mainly that I don’t deal so well with the heat (of course I’m out in it all day at work), I love snow (yes, I’ve lived in it) and I want to see the seasons. Also, it seems once I get out of California everyone is nicer (except my fellow 50+’s here in California, they’re nice) and things aren’t at such a hectic pace. I also don’t like how crowded the San Fernando Valley has become and it’s only getting more and more crowded.

I’m glad you have found a state you’re happy with. It makes everything else better.

The thing I DON’T like about Arkansas is the summer heat. Once I’m retired I don’t intend to stick around here in the hottest months. I’ll be headed up your way, Montana is a beautiful state and one that I haven’t seen enough of. I love the Rocky Mountains, we lived in northern Utah for 3 years and really miss the mountains. But I don’t miss the months of cold weather, it’s all a trade off.
