Carrier bearing drop installed. Took five minutes and I think I’m getting more vibes as a result? Maybe it’s a Jedi mind trick

Nah, I'm going to wait until I have all corners ready to go. It'll probably be several months, if not after graduation

    Extended Brake Line Install

I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile and since getting my HD Dakars, it’s definitely time. A few things to note:

    1. Make sure you have PB Blaster.
    2. Buy a 10 mm flare wrench
    3. You’ll need least 32 oz. of DOT 3 brake fluid to flush the system, which you should
    4. Buy some line caps

Use your PB Blaster to loosen all of the nuts. The first few I loosened at the top didn’t need it, which is why I ran into a problem. The bottom ones were locked up and I ran out of penetrating oil. I literally ran to Autozone for additional brake fluid (on top of the bottle I had), line caps, and penetrating oil.53370A08-BEC6-4052-AC08-B20D64DF0952.jpg

Loosen and retighten the line nuts BEFORE removing the tabs that hold the line in place. Ask me why. I used pliers to rotate it back and forth until it popped out. The top two suck, I know.

Unscrew the line nuts and cap the ends. You’ll lose a few drops of brake fluid, but you’ll lose a lot less if you have the caps ready

Install the new lines in reverse order — do the bottom first. Hand tighten the line nut WITHOUT CROSS THREADING, insert the position tab with the lip out (use a hammer to tap it into place), and tighten the line nut.

Repeat the last step for the top and proceed to bleeding the brake lines

I saw this while I was down there. Looks I’ll be doing it again :(
