But really, leg drive helped my numbers big time back in my powerlifting days.

My bench is coming - chest isn't but bench is so fuck it right?

I actually did 2 sets of 275x3 monday and 1 set of 275x4 yesterday. Goal end of this bulk is to hit 315x3.

When is the meet? It’s probably too late to start changing your form without screwing you up on the platform, but when I bench my feet are directly under my hips and at the bottom of each rep I’m pushing away from the floor to explode up on each rep

Been resting pretty much all week in prep for a serious bulk. Cut my cals and carbs down a little, fasted more, and did some light weights all week and I'm around 289 right now.

Good stuff is on the way, mass gainer is here, and I am sooooo ready to lift heavy again and prep for this comp.

Monday begins the road to 325lbs

I haven’t taken an official weight in a while, I always forget before I eat breakfast, but yesterday post workout (with shoes and pants on) I was 167. I’m probably 164-165 when I wake up if I had to guess. Last night I had a mini cheat for a family dinner. We went out for tacos but I got duck and had mine on lettuce wraps instead of tortilla. Tonight’s another family dinner but I fully plan on showing up with my container of monster mash and eating by myself while being heckled :cookiemonster:

Nov 9. My quads are too tight to get my feet back that far. The pushing back with my feet cue has really helped me though.

do you plan on losing some of that weight after you're done competing for good? I've seen some NFL oline or dline men lose like 50 lbs within 6 months of retiring.

Somehow I lost both pairs of running shoes in the move so I had to wear my patrol boots for my workout this morning.
50 jumping jacks, 10 second plank, 25 push-ups, 20 squats, 1 minute run in place, rest 30 seconds and repeat.

Yeah. I lose weight between events as well. I have been as light as 260lbs between events and up to 286lbs for an event. I've never competed above 300lbs, but that is where the super heavyweight class starts and where all the real competition is.

My goal is to have 300lbs be my off season weight and 330-340lbs as my comp weight.

But do you add those to the end of each day? Or just sprinkle it in? Once a month?
I wanna make sure I’m not like overloading my legs.

I don’t know why youd need a spotter since your weight should be light on eccentrics. Its a much harder movement.
I’m using maybe 25% of a working weight.

I guess it deprnds how you do it. I do eccentrics mostly single leg

My eccentrics are focused on overload, so I do about 30% more than my max. That's why I mention a spotter. I guess your version is different than what I was always taught. I do them maybe 1x a week and only 1 body part typically. So takes me a month to rotate through doing my version.

Eccentrics are typically harder than the concentric movement. Its about absolute control and minimal shaking as you bring weights down very slowly.

I have been doing them on the leg press and leg extension machine. Like on the leg press I push up with both legs then come down on one leg, then push up with both, come down on one.
#1 its easier to push the weight back up to the starting position but #2 is harder and requires more focus to do one leg at a time.
