Sooo... I bought the Metra 72-8104 to swap out the speakers on my 2020 Tacoma Sport and I ran into a different speaker connector. I don't know if this information was already posted on here somewhere, but I figured I'd post some pictures.

I also bought the Roof racks - PT27835170 and they cannot be turned to the perpendicular position because they bump into the antenna.

If anyone knows of an adapter for the speakers, please share.

    Edit:
After encountering the speaker connector issue I found that only the rear speakers have a new connector. The front ones still use the same metra adapter as previous years. As for the rear speaker connector, there is an ebay seller that has them.

I fail to see how a factory part has failed

Maybe I should have used "Accessories" in the title. Just trying to help out someone else contemplating speaker replacement or getting the factory roof racks.

Well, there’s a lot of threads about people replacing factory speakers. I bought the OEM Audio+ System and didn’t look back. For the roof rack, if it truly is a factory roof rack then there shouldn’t be any clearance problems

Thanks for the post, I also have a new 2020 and am desperate to upgrade from the stock 'premium' speakers. They're terrible.
I'm curious which adapters will be correct for upgraded speakers now.

I think with some finessing you can cut the plug off of the factory speaker and soldier some wires to. Make your own adapter without having to cut the harness on the truck.

Nope. They moved the antenna on the 2020s. The OEM roof rack doesn’t fit. There is a new part number deep in the Toyota system but it isn’t available to order yet. My dealer just went and put the old one on despite it not fitting (don’t blame them, the change is too subtle to notice) so I’m keeping it on until the new one comes out.

It definitely does not fit the ‘20. Confirmed with my dealer, Toyota HQ and my buddy at work with a ‘19.

You absolutely could, or just add some terminals... The speakers I want to install I've taken from car to car (Focals).. so I would always plan on return to stock before selling.

Do you have the JBL package? Upgrading the JBL package isn't as straight forward as the non JBL upgrade. Also, since people pay extra for it, the amount of people that have upgraded is much smaller, so there's going to be a lot less info on it.

Nope, this is non-JBL. The window sticker said 'Premium' audio and it just made me laugh.

Premium has to do with the screen size I believe. I apologize, my original post was for the op. Wondering if that's the reason his connector's don't line up.

Its just a two wire pos/negative connector. Cut both sides and splice wires directly or cut the connector off the old speaker and splice it onto the new one. Alternatively you can likely buy the connectors you need at an electronics store.

I'll share if I find any. I'm just glad I went for a rear speaker first and stopped after ran into the first one. Now I'm curious if the tweeter adapters I got from ********* will work. Maybe I'll check those during the weekend even if I can't change the speakers yet.

I thought about it, but I'm going to wait a bit. If nothing surfaces, I'll definitely try it.

It's non-JBL. The factory speakers seem to be Pioneer, they sound pretty bad and they're really light.

Odd, seems Toyota changed the speaker drivers in the 2020 Premium audio package as well.

Tweeter connections are the same as pervious years. Only difference are the rear speaker harness. My plan is to remove the connector from the factory speaker and make my own harness.

Only the rears? So you've confirmed the fronts to be the same as 2019?

Fronts are correct, I reached out to Metra and they do not have any harnesses for the rear speakers. not sure how long it will take them to have some available so i just spliced mine in.

Yes, already upgraded the tweeters to the Subaru kickers and the fronts to the 6x9 CS kickers. I haven't changed the rear yet because I was looking for a harness. Taco Tunes has something that might work listed under the 2018+ Camry, but I am not going to pay 30 bucks for something that might work.
