Okay, i know that this thread has been done a million times before but hear me out. i couldn't find anything that answered all my questions, nor a good thread specifically for first gens.

i'm planning on buying my suspension components pretty soon, likely later this month and i have most of it figured out except for the shock options. i've been debating between the Bilstien 5100 shocks and the Old Man Emu Nitrochargers. On toytec's website, the cost for the front shocks is coming in at $200 w/o tax for the Bilstiens or $315 w/o tax for the OME shocks. the rear shocks are roughly the same price so either of those is fair game.

basically my question is are the OME shocks worth it? how much better are they than the bilstiens? does the improvement warrant the $115 price increase? and given the choice between the two, which is a better option for the rear shocks?

also, it may be worth mentioning that the springs that i will be going with are the OME Dakar rear leaf springs and the Toytec/Eibach 620 lb front coil springs. i run an ARB bumper in the front along with some off-road lights. in the somewhat near future i will add a winch too. in the rear i plan to run an aftermarket bumper, rear tire carrier, and so on. i also carry loads from time to time.

I found specifications years ago that showed the Bilstein 5100's had something like 0.5" more travel than OME shocks. I can't remember where I found that. I went with Bilsteins and they've held up great.
