I have a hylift hunting blind mounted in the bed of my 2010 ted offroad. I get a lot of sway/roll when moving in the blind or windy conditions. Will installing a sway/roll bar on the rear help this situation. I don't do any heavy offroading, just looking for stability when parked and hunting. Any suggestions?

How high above the bed is this blind? Pic maybe?

You'd probably be better off supporting the body/frame against that much torque. I think you could find a good solution with some bottle jacks under the frame or some ratcheting bed bars against something somewhere or something like that.

What about some sort of anchor in the ground and some long ratchet tie downs on each side from the floor of the blind to the ground. Then when you move around the tie downs pull against each other.

Its a mobile hunting rig, I hunt different spots all over the ranch. I have hellwig helper springs that level the truck. I just need to stabilize the sway when parked/deer hunting. I am new on this sight and don't know how to post a photo of the rig. Tiedowns, jacks and outriggers not an option. Several offroad shops said swaybars would help alot. Some have suggested Firestone bags bags pressured up to stabilize then deflate when done hunting as the helper springs level the truck for the blind weight (600 lbs)

The bags will make it less bouncy. But unbearable to drive with helper spring and more than 15psi.

Sway bar is only for when moving, won't help when parked.

Best solution would be an external jack to plant to the ground. I would rig something that came out of my hitch receiver.

Hitch receiver is in the middle, wouldn't help with side roll/sway.

Something like this... or the drop leg. Can get 2 of them and a couple of bottle Jack's. Place under the truck and use jacks to stabilize or modify the rear to accommodate 2 drop leg pieces and use the jacks to make stable off the rear of the truck.

If tiedowns, outriggers and jacks are not an option I don't think this can be solved. You are exceeding the limits of the truck by having that much weight that high over the truck bed. 600 pounds? so the blind itself is 350-400 pounds on a 6' frame (200-250 pounds) above the bed of the truck? If you weigh 200 pounds that's a 550 - 600 pound fulcrum above your truck.

If you fart up there the truck's going to sway.

I think a swaybar will offer little help unless you stiffen up the suspension so much you've got little to no suspension left.

I think you are looking at tiedowns, outriggers or jacks, swapping your blind for a 6' ladder with a bar stool welded to it, or changing trucks.
