My wheel bearings are bad. Ive got replacement bearings but pressing them out with my 20 ton harbor freight press is a challenge. I need a bearing splitter. Whats the smallest splitter i can use to seperate the hub? And im also trying to do it on the cheap. The "large bearing splitter is too small from harbor frieght. It states 4-3/8 . I am thinking 6 inch will work. But any guidance or maybe a picture of how you set up the press to remove the hub.

When I did mine I found a video on youtube of someone swapping to manual hubs, helped me alot.
I ended up taking it to a local machine shop, they pressed it out for like $10-15

196k. I never noticed any grinding until i swapped out the cv axles because the boots blew out.

I found a video by tim the toyota guy. I saw his set up but i am having difficulty getting the 1 inch thick x 3.5 bars he used.

I ended up getting some 1"x3x8.5 arbor plates and some 1/2"x 3 x 10 plates and two pieces of 4x6. Got them swapped out this barely worked. I really needed the 1 inch plates to be near 10 inches for it to work comfortably. I also bent my 1/2" plates.

All swapped out and quite now. I noticed I picked up about 4 mpg now i guess the drag was bad.

I bought the bars off of ebay.
