Bigbarlo's 96 FJ80 Build (Pic Heavy)

Got her all tuned and cleaned. Got a few little parts installed (sun visors, rear dome light and a couple door light switches) Thought the AC was broken but it was a bad fuse. Blows ice cold. Everything works as it should. Now to do the pin 7 mod and take it to an upholstery shop.

Finally got around to doing the pin 7 mod. Anytime center diff mod. From the factory, the later model fj80s lock the center diff when you put it in low automatically. The earlier models have a switch which you can lock the the diff whenever you want, even in high. The pin 7 mod does that. You need a plug and play switch as the harness still has the connector for the switch. It is taped up in the dash. It turn out that an early model RAV4 has the exact switch. I didn’t known RAV4s had center diff lockers but I guess they do. Pretty easy mod. Took me 15 minutes. A few pics of the process. Works like a charm. Good to be able to switch it on and off when needed.

 

One of my favorite features on this rig.

 

Installed the lift and the LCP sway bar disconnects today. 2.5” Dobinsons medium front and rear. Pretty happy with the results.
