Well shit, I installed the brackets wrong . They are supposed to be on the inside, will fix tomorrow. The light output is plenty for my needs. Will be using the outside lights for ditch lights. The install itself was easy and straightforward, it's solidly built. I added some molding on the front where it touches the roof for protection.

Hey guys. When I wired up my halos I tapped the power wire from the side marker as per a video I found about it. I realize now that the halos won't come on unless my lights are on and not just with the DRL, which is what I intended. Does anyone happen to know which wire I need to tap on the DRL harness so that they will come on together?

    Thx

woke up this morning knowing i wanted to tackle this so i did. Added a fog light switch for my "ridge fog light clones coming in the mail tomorrow"

All in all it took 1 hr. with 1/2 of that finding the right tools

Flat head to pry some panels
    Phillips head
    T30 air bag
    19mm for the wheel nut.

Lol. Painting on the go. I like that. Was curious if it came off as easy as doing the badges. Sounds like it did. I have some left over so I'll give this a shot. Thanks

I heard you needed something to do so glad I could help . Glad you are happy with it. I'm concerned that the cross bars may interfere with the sunroof when its in the up position and don't like the idea that it rest against the roof. I don't want my paint damaged even though I've seen where people put trim around the edge and even put a strip of vinyl across the truck under the rack. I'll have to think about this for a bit. Thanks for the info.

Installed my @MESO coin tray. It’s the “Blemished” product at 1/2 ofd but this thing fits perfectly and I haven’t tried out any coins yet. Love the look with the TRD shift knob along with it too. 747D0761-2F5C-410E-8E7E-65EFD8A906FA.jpg

Thx for catching that. Yeah there's not much clearance for a moon roof.

    A few minor things...
Finally got around to fixing my tailgate bushing/hinge/slow down mechanism.

Took around half an hour with the instructions on how to remove the rear bumper instructions from ADDICTIVE DESERT DESIGNS® website. You only need to remove the bolts on the right side of the bumper.

You do need to remove the license plate lights and trailer light plug from the bumper.

From Tacito's post found here. Here is the background on the bushing in question.

Tacoma's built between August 2015 and February 2016 were equipped with:
    Bushing # 66143-04020
    Hinge Part # 66101-04020

Tacoma's built February 2016 and after were equipped with:
    Bushing # 66143-04021
    Hinge #66101-04021

The Tailgate itself and the hinge attached to the tailgate did not change and remain the same.

    What does this mean?

If your Tacoma was built with the early version of the hinge & bushing and you need to replace your bushing, you will need to replace the hinge on your truck. Replacing the hinge requires the removal of your rear bumper.

Not sure why... but for some reason this picture conjures up "enron" in my brain. Demonstrating the power and loss of the brain. Some picture from that time frame of a car in a parking lot having to do with enron in Houston made it into my long term memory.....

Think I fixed my leaking Rough Country tonneau. Ordered some 1" weather stripping from Amazon. We had a pretty good down pour last night. Checked this morning and no water in the bed at all. I also sealed the cracks at the front of the bed next to the cab. I think the problem is Toyota decided, for god knows what reason, to channel water hitting the bed rails into the bed. The seal on the tonneau totally sucks and does nothing to keep the water out of the bed. Piss poor design. The cover came with a short piece of weather stripping that, according to the instructions, is for use on beds where the back rail is lower than the sides, this didn't apply to me but I put a piece across the back anyway. Think I'm gonna save up for a diamondback.

I just did a fluid swap on everything but the transmission on my 2016 Sport with 70k miles...

Transfer case got a bottle of Ravenol J1C1003 SAE 75W Manual Transmission Fluid - MTF-3 Full Synthetic (1 Liter)

Front diff with ECGS bushing got 75W140

    Rear diff got 75W90

Tried out 4WD and 4Lo on my driveway (300' ish) and had no problems. I tried it out on the street and drove for about a mile and there are no issues with anything.

Grab one of these when you service all the diffs and transfer case. Replace all crush washers when you take the plugs out.
