yup thats a nutdragger rite there

 

evening. son stopped by to check out guns. one shot on the 6.5 creddmore and on on muzzle loader. both dead on. I shot the 6.5 at 100yds. dead center bullseye. nice gun!muzzle was 1,5 high at 50yds which is where we line them up for with triple seven.muzzle comes in Sat. and they are seeing studs out of bow range. i believe the smoke will fly Sat. pics to come if it does. bucks are chasing like crazy here.

Hunter down the road from me shot 2 deer this weekend and list both of them. All he had to do was make a phone call and get permission to go on neighbors land. To lazy to do that.

 

Yea thanks man . Went out and looked again today in the pouring rain for a few hours .Guy with tracking dog seems to think the deer made it if his dog didn’t find it .

 

its possible, if it didnt bed down anywhere its more likely he didnt get a mortal wound. You might see him on game camera again if you have one out.

 

Bucks are starting to really lay down some sign. Found 11 new rubs today, with a couple of them definitely coming from a decent buck. Don’t think they’re from this guy, as I didn’t have any pictures of him on that side of the land. I think there may be one bigger than him in there somewhere. Just gotta catch him slipping.

 

We never found a single bed and the last 200 yards out of a downhill 600 yard tracking job only a few small drops of blood then nothing Hopefully he made it ,I’ve been losing sleep over it Got a couple cameras out

 

yeah it stinks...We had a similar situation with a bear this year,wife shot and thought she had a good shot, flipped up in the air and ran down hill. We tracked for easy 800+yds found some blood going uphill and thought that isnt good. went down the old skid trail and nothing...no blood no bedding down. just gone. Never did get her back on camera. We looked 3 days nothing. just the last blood and then ghost. She did get a bear the next week though. Since then there hasnt been anything on bait!

 

Hoping to catch this guy during the rut when his balls overrule his brain.

I shot a raccoon off my back porch...first shot it jumped then was having a hard time getting up the tree...shot again and it dropped but it ran in some thick brush, ill go look for him tomorrow...22mag is sure fun

 

Logged 10 miles on foot Saturday. Saw a bunch of does and one small buck. Took my Daughter out Sunday to a ranch we can hunt to fill my doe tag. Saw a bunch of deer but didn't like the shot I would have made if I missed (unknown background) so I passed. On our way our we saw about 25 deer on the neighboring property. We were watching two bucks fighting for a while until a 3rd much bigger buck came running from the trees too fight one of the smaller bucks and ran him off. I stopped at the other ranch house and knocked on the door and got permission to come back and do some hunting there. Going back Tuesday to get set up for a buck. Might fill my doe tag who knows. All I know is the Sunday hunt with my Daughter was the most fun hunt I've been on yet. Lots of memories on that one.

 

Sleeping in tomorrow ............... still depressed
