What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Haven’t used anything to clean it yet. I’ve got a can of throttle body cleaner but can’t remember the brand. Got the oem tps

 

Made some progress on the new tire carrier. Not too sure how I feel about it yet, the latch hangs kinda low and didn't work out how I wanted but it's totally secure now compared to what I had before. I still might just cut it apart and start over since I have another 5" of 3x2 tube.

i have seen pics and read bad things about that part

 

I keep wondering if I have a similar issue. How did you isolate? Remove one belt at a time?

Cleared all the shit off it and admired it.

 

Finished welding the new carrier together. Just needs paint. Much happier with this overall, just iffy on the placement of the latch.



Much stronger than before and now the tire angles back towards the bed like it was designed to.

 

Made some progress on the truck.

 

Put in some work today.

I'm expecting some damaged after being an idiot with the skinny pedal during my last adventure.

But at this point I'm thinking 5.29's and a Spartan locker are going in regardless.

 

Did you need to pull the rack to get the lca’s out? I’m going to be there soon.




Uca’s and lca’s are next. Should the ITRE’s be able to hold themselves up? Or are they fucked? No play in the lbj’s but I’ll replace them and use these as trail spares

 

I unbolted it but didn't remove the line and was able to do it. Might save yourself some frustration and completely remove it. I think the long bolt was what was annoying me.

 

You’ll have to loosen all the bolts and nuts, it’s moved about 1 inch back on the drivers side and moved back clear of the mounting bolt on the passenger side. You’ll have to lift the rack up slightly to pull the rear LCA bolt out.

I’m not sure what you mean with the ITRE’s, mine are hanging freely with seemingly no issues.

 

I was reading you had a hilux snorkel? Do you have the link on that by chance?

 

Is it a good fit or needs modified?

I was looking into the hilux one and wondering about it. Loudness and effectiveness for a need for colder air.
