    Hello all

I just bought my first truck (longtime Toyota owner though). Its a 1999 Tacoma Extracab 2.4L automatic. Only has 78k miles on it... and its a Florida truck. In decent condition... it needed a blower motor, the driver's door latch grease (used to lock itself), and a master cylinder.

I still need to bleed the brakes.

Another issue that I have is that its real loud when it starts... i.e. when cranking it sounds like a giant old truck. But after it starts its relatively quiet. I haven't checked to see if I have any exhaust leaks... but that may be the cause.. any ideas.

    Anyways... hello to everyone.

    Omar

MVIMG_20190917_175511.jpg 20191020_165943.jpgBefore and after. :) new wheels rub on large bumps. I'm not sure how to resolve that... Without getting different tires or rims.

It still needs another pass with the DA polisher and new sr5 and tailgate badges. Those look awful.

Looks great with the Mustang wheels! You need a shorter tire to avoid rubbing. If they're the stock size Mustang tires (235/55R17), they are almost 1.5" too tall compared to the stock Tacoma tire (215/70R14). You can use the TW tiresize calculator found here.

You'll find that the SR5 badges are gonna be quite expensive, if you can find them. May have to change to an emblem off a later model truck, or just leave them off!

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Tacoma-1998-2004-SR5-Pillar-Chrome-Emblem-Badge-Genuine-OEM-PT211-SR982/221231308702?fits=Model%3ATacoma%7CSubmodel%3ASR5&epid=656421884

Edit: I don't know if the tailgate badges are different from the pillar badges. You may have better luck finding the ones for the tailgate.

Same size - 235/55/17 Pirelli P-Zero, seem to fit just fine. They are the stock wheels from my '09 Mustang. :D

Thanks... I'll start looking for tires now. I'll have to measure the height and width of the emblems, and start measuring in parking lots. It's obscene how much people charge for the emblems.

I also need the tailgate "Toyota" emblem. I may just get an eBay decal.
