Are you doing a single battery or duals? I am running a single setup with a 31M and all i needed to get it rolling was a charge contoller, the panel, and some wiring and connectors. The isolator would be for duals i believe

Okay. I'll be running a single battery for the time being. I think it'll run about $1k to get the dual battery setup and I only really need an additional charge on my current battery

Honestly, i dont think duals are needed unless you dont drive the truck for extended periods of time. A 100w solar panel should be able to keep your battery topped off consistently. I run my fridge 24/7 and i havent had to unplug it once since rewiring it..

You could even run a single long term just get a little larger deep cycle one. Also when running a deep cycle battery, the voltage reqd to charge them properly is more than the standard 13.8v the alternator puts out. I recommend a voltage regulator to boost alternator output and keep your AGM battery in good health long term

so all basically you should need is wiring, and a charge controller (i recommend a quality MPPT version)

Curious to see this in use...

I am looking at a dual battery setup for the truck. and been thinking of the REDARC BCDC 1240 for the setup. and it will allow for a solar input.

I also have been thinking about a mount system that will allow me to raise the panel and set the angle while in camp, and then lay flat for for travel.

    This^^^

Maximum power point tracking. This type of controller works much much better on cloudy days getting all the juice it can
