Hi Taco-Obsessed. I am interested in the NorCal/Nevada Water thread because I work for the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. I do not work directly with water as I am a mechanic, but the historical "water wars" of the west have always interested me. My employer is the largest municipal utility in the U.S. and has significant pull with regards to water distribution in California and beyond.

Yes, Owens Dry Lake. And by diverting water to So Cal, we created the largest single source of air-borne dust pollution in the U.S. We were recently mandated to reduce this pollution and have spent in excess of $1,000,000,000 doing so.

 

Wait till the Salton Sea shrinks further.

What came first the chicken or the egg. The Salton Sea was dry and one point, but we figured we needed a million people living in the low desert. The Coachella Valley use to be nice, now it's basically paved and turfed over

It is my understanding that the Salton Sea is beyond saving. I recently watched a documentary about the S.S. that was quite interesting. I guess it was a recreation oasis back in the day. And then, we ruined it.....
